Meet the Staff
Children’s Ministries of Texas is led by the Bogner and Wychopen young adults under the guidance and direction of their parents. Serving with a host of other home educated young people, these good role models have a heart for what you desire to accomplish through home education.

President and Vice President
Valerie and I have been married for 30 years and have four daughters. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Valerie has a Master of Science degree in Deaf Education. Together we have been involved in organizing and leading in many children’s programs such as AWANA and Vacation Bible School.
We began Children’s Ministries of Texas to assist THSC in providing a well organized, Christ-centered children’s program. In the years of homeschooling our four daughters, we have personally seen the fruits of home education. Our heart’s desire is to help other families reap the benefits of home schooling and encourage them in their efforts to raise Godly youth in our day.

I am very grateful for my parents obedience to the Lord’s command to, “bring them [children] up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.” Ephesians 6:4 Two of the ways the Lord led my parents to fulfill this command were daily family devotions and homeschooling. It was during family devotions when I was five that the Holy Spirit convicted me of sin and I received the Lord Jesus as my Savior.
While homeschooling, I was able to see that my parents’ faith was genuine and affected every area of their lives. When I was 15, Dad encouraged me to become involved with an after-school ministry at our church. Since then, the Lord has led me to serve with various children ministries including IBLP’s Children’s Institute, Character First! Education, and Child Evangelism Fellowship. The training I received from these ministries has been invaluable to me in ministry to children. I am excited for the opportunity to serve
at the THSC Conference with Children’s Ministries of Texas.

Senior Director
When my parents began homeschooling me at the age of 10, I had no idea that homeschooling would be a gate to tremendous opportunities in children’s ministry! In past years, the Lord has led me to serve around the country and in Taiwan with IBLP’s Children’s Institutes, as well as teaching Character First! Education in public schools.
I have enjoyed helping to organize and teach many years in AWANA, Vacation Bible School, and several years with Pre-EXCEL. I have worked with the THSC Children’s Conferences for 6 years and am looking forward to seeing the Lord work in children’s lives at the 2010 THSC Conference!
Erin Wychopen
Senior Director
As I look back at all the decisions my parents made, I am most grateful for their decision to home-educate me and my siblings from the very beginning. Only God knew my future and the possibilities I would have to serve Him through home-education. I received Christ as my Lord and Savior when I was nine years old.
Since the age of twelve, I’ve had a God-given desire and passion to work with children. Throughout my teen years I had the opportunity of working with our church Vacation Bible School, Children’s Choir, and backyard Bible clubs. I also worked with the Denton Brothers and Children’s Conferences International for four years.
In 2004 I was given the opportunity to help develop Children’s Ministries of Texas under the authority of my parents. I am so excited about this season of life, and I am grateful for the innumerous opportunities God has given me to work with children over the years! I look forward to serving you and your children again in 2010!
